Nutritional & Digestive Health

A blood test combining nutritional markers with checks related to digestive health, cholesterol and blood sugar. It may help investigate persistent tiredness, bloating or concerns about nutrient deficiencies, alongside a clinical assessment. Please book following clinical advice so we can confirm that this panel is suitable for your symptoms.

Results typically available within 24-48 hours

What does it check?

  • Full blood count: Red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets, helping identify anaemia and other blood-cell abnormalities
  • Vitamins and nutritional markers: Vitamin B12, folic acid, vitamin D, zinc, magnesium, adjusted calcium, albumin and total antioxidant status
  • Iron studies: Iron, ferritin, total iron-binding capacity, transferrin and transferrin saturation
  • Cholesterol: Total, LDL and HDL cholesterol, total cholesterol/HDL ratio and triglycerides
  • Blood sugar regulation: Glucose, HbA1c and insulin
  • Coeliac-related antibodies: Anti-tissue transglutaminase antibodies
  • Helicobacter pylori: Antibody testing for evidence of exposure to bacteria associated with stomach inflammation and ulcers

Who may benefit?

This test may suit anyone experiencing persistent tiredness, bloating, digestive discomfort or concerns about nutrient deficiencies, where a combined assessment of nutritional markers and digestive-health-related checks could help guide further investigation alongside a clinical assessment.

Important information

Eating gluten is important for accurate coeliac antibody testing. If you currently eat a normal gluten-containing diet, include some gluten in more than one meal daily for at least six weeks before testing. If you have already reduced or stopped gluten, contact us before booking and before changing your diet.

This panel does not diagnose food allergies or intolerances, or rule out every digestive condition. H. pylori antibodies can remain after a previous infection, so a stool or breath test may be needed to establish whether infection is current. Results must be assessed alongside your symptoms and medical history, and further testing may be required.
