Recommended Blood Test & Combined Package

The Essential Health & Hormone Profile (Basic) is a detailed blood test (56 markers) that provides a broader picture of your hormone levels and general health. It can help investigate symptoms such as low energy or reduced sex drive and supports assessment for Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT).

Price: £199 includes blood collection, laboratory testing, clinician review and a brief explanation of your results.

A full TRT consultation, additional tests and treatment are charged separately.

What does it test?

  • Hormones: testosterone, SHBG, Free Androgen Index, LH, FSH, prolactin, oestradiol and DHEAS.
  • Thyroid function: TSH, FT4 and FT3.
  • Blood count & iron: full blood count and iron studies.
  • Cholesterol & blood sugar: cholesterol levels, triglycerides and glucose.
  • Liver & kidney function.
  • Minerals & electrolytes: including calcium, magnesium, sodium and potassium.
  • Additional markers: PSA (a prostate marker) and ESR (a marker of inflammation).

Before your appointment:

  • Book between 8 am and 11 am, after a good night's sleep. Night-shift workers: contact us for timing advice.
  • Fast as instructed; plain water only. Contact us first if you have diabetes or medicines requiring food.
  • Avoid ejaculation, anal sex, cycling and strenuous exercise for 48 hours.
  • Contact us if unwell, or following a recent urine infection or prostate procedure.
  • Tell us about medicines and supplements, particularly testosterone, anabolic steroids and biotin. Do not stop prescribed medicines without advice.

Results and follow-up:

Your blood sample will be collected and sent to the laboratory. A clinician will review your results, explain the findings and advise on next steps.

Important to know: This profile provides the minimum blood testing required by our clinic before TRT can be considered. More comprehensive profiles are available where a broader assessment is clinically appropriate.

You will also need a TRT consultation to review your symptoms, medical history and results. Low testosterone usually requires confirmation with a repeat morning blood test, and additional tests may be needed.

Completing this profile does not guarantee treatment — TRT will only be prescribed if clinically appropriate. PSA results cannot diagnose or rule out prostate cancer on their own.
